CLEMS Bar/night club is situated in St Clements just in the plane before the famous Magdalene bridge, witness every year to the biggest party anywhere in the UK on “May day”. A medium sized club with capacity for over 300 people over two floors.
CLEMS is a family owned establishment specialised in in holding events and night entertainment for students.
Luis and Bruno its owners, have made a converging point for generations of students from both Oxford colleges and Brookes University since it opened in 1993. CLEMS is in fact the oldest independent and operating student venue in oxford under the same management.
To keep up with the ever evolving needs and demands of our core customers, CLEMS has embarked in a new refurbishment process that will include a cocktail bar in the main room upstairs with 3 screens and 2 projectors with the latest music videos, perfect for screening presentations/films or any other kind of events. This new set of refurbishment comes only three years after the major reshaping of the venue. Luis and Bruno will also include a new selection of Mediterranean wines from his own extensive knowledge of southern oenology.
To this an extra room is has been designed in the basement to add to the existing three rooms, which will give more character to the grotto feel of the basement bar/dance floor. Also a projector with the latest music videos has been added.
A smoking area has been granted and approved by the council and is already in place. A newly contained space will see to the safety of our customers and their comfort.
CLEMS has also been known as a very accommodating venue for private hire and our management will always try their best to meet the requirements of our customers with many different formulas to suit everyone , and have become very proficient in not only meeting your needs but also use our rich experience in modelling and providing the best custom parties.

The Red Bar, a newly refurbished upstairs area with brick walls, gives a bohemian touch to the place, evoking a feeling of cosy warmth. , filled with canvases reminiscing the glorious years of the actors studio in harmony with an alternative sound of deep jazz lounge and funky rhythmics all of this together with our wide selection of mediteranean wines, premium spirits, champagnes and a cocktail menu provided by our in-house experts.

The Lounge a.k.a The Blue Room has been a huge success since it was opened march 2010. It is a private room for the most demanding and sophisticated of patrons. It is adjacent to the bar with capacity for fifty (50) people and comprised of three tables with their very own private waitress service. It offers a perfect decorum for private functions, birthday parties and any kind of event when privacy and exclusivity is required. Just like the Red bar, it offers a wide selection of drinks and cocktails and its very own special SHOTS menu. we alswo offer VIP packages to suit all.
